ABOUT US
About the Rockpile Christian Resource Center
The Rockpile Christian Resource Center, in its first 10 years, went from merchandise on tables outside rented Rock Church venues to being named the best large church bookstore in the nation.¹

The Rockpile operates as an independent retail business in San Diego's Rock Church, a nondenominational megachurch founded in 2000 by Miles McPherson. Our beautiful 6,200-foot center stocks the latest and best selection of Bibles, books, music, study resources, clothing, children's items and gifts. The accompanying online store has a special emphasis on products produced by Pastor McPherson or recommended by the Rock Church pastoral staff.

[1] The Rockpile was chosen from 500 nominees for the 2010 Store of the Year Award, issued by The Church Bookstore magazine.

History
That all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty...
Joshua 4:24 (NKJV)

As the Rock Church has grown, so has the Rockpile. The store is now an industry leader known for excellence, innovation and community outreach. But the heart of the operation has always been to lead people to God and equip them for lives of service. Time after time God has opened ways for us to combine good business practices with love and obedience as a means of drawing people to Him.

‘What Do These Stones Mean?’

In the Old Testament, the book of Joshua tells a dramatic story of love and obedience. As Joshua was leading the 12 tribes of Israel to the Promised Land, they came to the Jordan River. To help them cross, God promised to do a mighty thing — if the people would trust Him.

With their first step of faith, God took action. He stopped the flow of water, creating a clear path for the twelve tribes. Then God ordered a representative from each tribe to select a stone from the middle of the river bed.

With those symbolic rocks, Joshua built an enduring memorial. All future generations would know of God's miraculous and loving care and Israel's obedience.

In the future your children will ask, "What do these stones mean?" Then you can tell them, "This is where the Israelites crossed the Jordan on dry ground." For the Lord your God dried up the river right before your eyes, and he kept it dry until you were all across, just as he did at the Red Sea when he dried it up until we had all crossed over. He did this so all the nations of the earth might know that the Lord´s hand is powerful, and so you might fear the Lord your God forever. Joshua 4:22-24

The Rockpile Christian Resource Center exists so that all the nations of the earth might know that the Lord´s hand is powerful. In its first decade, the Rock Church — and the bookstore with it — moved more than 30 times, worshipping in a dozen locations. Having a permanent place in the Liberty Station development of the Point Loma area of San Diego since 2007 has been a blessing and springboard for more growth.

Through it all, God has shown His mighty hand. Perhaps not as dramatically as damming a powerful river. But with the same equipping power and love.

We at the Rockpile Christian Resource Center want our work and customer relationships to be the memorial stones that turn people to God.
